As soon as was possible, I left Entourage in favor of Outlook 2011 Mac. I'm using Exchange 2010.
A Smart Folder, also known as a saved search or a search folder, is a virtual folder in Outlook 2016 for Mac that dynamically displays a set of search results. A search can be saved as a Smart Folder so that you can use the same search criteria later without having to manually re-create the advanced search. Outlook for Mac ← Outlook for Mac. Allow smart folders in Favorites. The new Favorites category in the sidebar is nice, but should also allow Smart Folders to be added as Favorites. I want a few of my smart folders at the top of my sidebar. As do others.there are at least two other feature requests on this page asking to allow the Smart.
I seem to recall being able to create custom 'Smart Folders' when I used Outlook on Windows, but can't seem to find a way to do it in Outlook 2011 on Mac. The closest I've seen was to use Filters on a folder, but that doesn't seem to include sub-folders, and I can't find a way to save it to come back to later. What I would ultimately like is a single view that shows me anything that is flagged or unread, from any folder. Skype not opening on mac. I use server-side rules extensively to sort mail into different folders, so aggregating across all folders is important.
I accomplished this in Entourage by creating one saved search that showed flagged items from any folder, another that showed unread items from any folder, and then a third (which I would use as my primary view) that aggregated the contents of these other two custom views. Anyone have any suggestions, or am I missing something obvious? Use raw queries. For flagged or unread mails: (com_microsoft_outlook_flagged = 1)|| (com_microsoft_outlook_unread = 1) Important note: Do not use this folder with the 'mark as read immediately' option, as seen here: This results in a continuous mark as read -- remove from view -- show next message -- mark as read cycle, until everything is marked as read and you have no idea what you've now missed. Instead, I've switched to the 2nd option displayed that marks as read when you select a different message.
Using Smart Folders Smart folders make it possible to save advanced search filters so they can be used again and again. When you open a smart folder, Outlook applies the saved filters to your contacts and displays the results in the contacts list. By default, two smart folders are preconfigured for Contacts view: • Flagged Contacts This smart folder uses the Follow Up Flag filter to display all contact records that are flagged as not completed. • Updated Contacts This smart folder uses the Date Modified filter to display all contact records that have been modified within the past week. In this exercise, you’ll learn how to create your own smart folders, modify existing smart folders to change their settings, and delete smart folders you no longer need. • On the search filter line, click the Within Last Week menu, and then click Since Yesterday. The contacts list displays only those contact records modified since yesterday.

The contacts list changes to display only contacts with addresses in California and the company name included in the contact record. • If necessary, on the Search tab, click the Advanced button to display the search filters for the currently selected smart folder. • On the search filter line, edit CA to read NJ. The contacts list changes to display only contacts with addresses in New Jersey and the company name included in the contact record.
